Don, I agree. My instinct tells me that quite a few of these inexpensive computers are being bought for the children of the 50K income crowd.

Dad or Mom may be getting a little tired of sharing the computer. After all their getting addicted to the net too. So why not spend 800 or 1k dollars, and keep the kids happy with their own P166 or 150. This way they can have their own hard drive full of their homework and games.

I think another big winner will be as Fred has alluded to, the educational software industry. Such as TLC. Mom and Dad and the rest of the extended family will hear about the kids with their own computer, and want to buy them some decent software for Christmas.
After all it's light and very cheap in discount places like Costco.
