Agreed.. I will only post on AMAT related issues from now on. However, the current debate ove INTC AMD and CYRX evolved from a related discussion. I summarize my view as follows.

1) The recent weak earnings from MPU manufacturers will NOT hurt AMAT and to the contrary will help select equipment makers in the long run.

2) The reason why price erosion in MPUs will help AMAT is due to the fact that in order to stay competitive, it is now more cruicial then ever to be able to produce chips less expensively and this is achieved first through smaller geometries,(more chips cut per same wafer), more inspection (higher yields) and then larger wafers.
