Comparisons of the new India to the new America are not off-topic here. Hundreds of millions of Asians have been lifted out of poverty and enjoy a much higher standard of living than their parents ever achieved. In America, however, this is not true. Most Americans do not have a significantly higher standard of living than their parents.

You can say what you want about wages understating total compensation in USA, but the fact remains that relatively few Americans get to participate in the bonuses and profit-sharing that you refer to.
