Prices haven't been flat, they've dropped about 28% in 6 weeks. That woke up the gold bugs and also the rich looking to divest assets outta clownbux. Futures look to be pushed downward, if you want to call it manipulation that's OK with me. But the physical just isn't out there (particularly in silver).
