"He was joking." No. What he was doing was dodging the question. First he offers a lot of platitudes and stories. And then he threw out the $5 million figure and launches into a set speech of how it doesn't matter because he doesn't want to raise taxes on anyone. He dodged for one simple reason, by any reasonable definition of "rich", he is rich. Given he is doing his best to paint Obama as a arugula eating elitist snob and himself as a salt of the earth everyday joe, that isn't part of the spin. He deserves to have his hand called.
