Of course, the UN is notoriously ineffective in just about everything it does, so if our foreign policy is dependent upon UN approval, why bother with having a foreign policy?

The UN is as effective as we want it to be and the world is increasingly connected. If we were willing to cede some control we'd be much better off.

You think that if you're nice to your enemies they'll be nice to you. The world doesn't work that way and there are 4,000 years of history that prove it.

There are no absolutes, but there is no question that th US has become a target precisely as a result of its foreign policy in the ME. No one is targeting Canada.
