"I honestly don't know how a family of 4 could BEGIN to live in NYC for 150K less taxes." Before you were talking about the country. Now it is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Set some goal posts and quit moving them around. I can take where I live, Bryan Texas. Median household income is about $31k. Median price of a house is $129k. An income of $100k puts you way ahead of reasonable expenses. Even with several kids in the local world class university. So, should this be the yardstick for being wealthy?
