No, it does not matter to me what the source was. I was just a little surprised that they got much useful from that approach. By far the dominant approach is crossing. For whatever reason, they seemed to have played with radiation back when atoms where sexy, but it does not appear to be much of a driving force today, although there does appear to be those still advocating the method. You just don't see much in the way of results in the current ag scene based on that approach, while plant breeding does remain a very active field so I suspect there is a reason for that fact. GM is of course a much different animal.

IMHO, let the consumer decide, and don't try and hide things. Label food as either GM, or for that matter, "RB" (Radiation Bred") and see what wins in the marketplace.
