I'm not eager to resume statin use,

Would you tell us why you stopped?

You are right, going hungry is a waste of time. You will gain it right back when you quit. It must be a permanent diet change. My intake now is mainly green veggies [spinach, eggplant, zuccini, tomatoes and mushrooms] chicken and kidney beans in my chili, plus oatmeal with walnuts, Flax seed and Oat bran.

I have a smoothie every day with a scoop of Soy Protein powder, cup of skim milk, water, frozen strawberrys, Splenda, and ice. Makes the Soy go down easy. I don't starve, just eat small portions and spice up what I do eat by cooking with garlic and onions. I am drinking a lot of iced tea, which is not the best. I will buy green tea next grocery trip and try it cold. I weigh in every Monday at the Kaiser clinic on the same electronic scale.
