There isn't "plenty of history", just some writings by his followers.

I would argue if he had followers that is pretty good evidence of his existence.

The New Testament was written shortly after Christs' existence which gives it some credibility -- about as much credibility as one can get for events that occurred at that time.

Now, I don't have much knowledge of this subject and don't claim to, so I'll leave it for others who are more knowledgeable than I am. But I recognize someone being argumentative when I see it.
