Thank God he had the power of the vetoe.

koan: when Carter was president he was running 50 billion a year deficits and the total deficit was about one trillion dollars.

The first year Reagan was president the deficit rose to 250 billion and stayed there for the next eight years adding two trillion to the deficit. Bush senior same thing for the next four years adding another trillion.

lil bush with both a Republican house and Republican senate will have doubled the deficit from 5 to 10 trillion. How about that?

PS Clinton left us with a 250 billion surplus and hope the national debt would be wiped out by 2012.

Bush is leaving us with a 500 billion deficit.
