The ethics of saving very low birth weight babies is being hotly debated because of all of the problems.

Well, your remarks are 100% beside the point. Totally irrelevant. The sustainability of a premature baby cannot determine where it is or isn't okay to abort a fetus. When my niece was born, it was viewed as a miracle survival, but today, these happen with a great frequency.

The point is not to establish a cutoff for abortions. The point, for me on a personal level, was to crystallize the viability of a child at a very early age. That, for me -- not necessarily for you or anyone else -- but for me, suggests that terminating very early pregnancies may be an acceptable option, but within a couple of months, that decision ought not be an option.
