I have many objection the way it was "sold politically" it does not lower energy consumption as at present it uses electricity mostly produced form coal which is much more polluting than any other fuel.

For example - fact is that the French where Renault is based and produce most of its electricity from nuclear power are negative toward Aggassi project

Further the issue of batteries who contain chemical substances which are also heavy pollutants and actually poison to living organisms - those batteries have a recharging life after which they must be discharged - where?

Manufacturing the batteries, the charging mini-stations, the logistics involved of removing and exchanging batteries etc. are very polluting activities and on balance there would be more polluting that using regular gasoline.

Aggassi is just an excellent promoter failing to disclose all facts and the many drawbacks of his concept – in a nutshell he is a run of the mill charlatan as is his partner/s in the project the Offer Brothers – well known as “very unpleasant” people from Israel and originated in Romania <GGG>

On the other hand Boone Pickens idea is transparent he does not claim saving in CO2 (as they are not so big – due to the manufacturing process of the windmills and their towers etc.) but he rightly claims removing dependence form foreign oil same to his idea of burning compressed NG in cars – which could be used also in fuel cells if laboratory developments will be commercialized – all this removing dependence on foreign oil – in which he is correct

In addition there are many new developing technologies which lower CO2 emission in passenger cars which are much more flexible than a only electric car with limited mileage. GM and others work on some of those technologies
