Yeah Right! As if an individual investor has 1/10 the
resources available to him that an analyst does. I suppose
your average MSFT investor has as intricate a model as
Lucy Painter of Merrill Lynch, or whatever his name is
from Golman Sachs.
I am amazed by all the bitching and moaning I hear about
analysts.
They are the best we have, or at least institutions seem to
think so. No, they are not infallible, but investing is an
art not a science. Nothing is exact...especially wrt
technology dynamics.
Co.s like MSFT give guidance directly to the analysts.
As well, they shoot analysts if they get too far out
of step. That means lines of communication are cut off
altogether and they are out there on the street guessing
like you and me.
Good luck on your own. Or perhaps you have a direct line to
Bill Gates.
