Reagan fired all of the air traffic controllers (when they went on strike)as his first order of business when he took over the presidency in 1980. He wanted to make an example of them. As a further note, I will tell you what I think is the biggest issue in this election: My single biggest fear regarding McCain is that he will get us into a nuclear war with Russia because his thinking is so unsophisticated. If we have a nuclear war with Russia everyone dies. I do not think McCain fully understands that. Russia just voted (overwhelmingly) to keep the two breakaway provinces in Georgia. McCain is sending his wife (who's role model is princess Diana!) to Georgia. Russia will engage in hegemony and how we react to that will be the whole ball game. We have to be smart!!
