SS, How can Y2K <<be the new paradign "cause" which "cannot be forseen">> when Yardeni and others have forseen it? The Economist has a pretty good Y2K review in next-to-last issue (possibly web-accessible). I think that it will certainly have major impact within the IT budget, and will be friendlier to software than hardware, but will not have significant impact on semi equip sector, nor on bull market. One could make a similar case for El Nino. SC
