Like it or not Russia needs to be viewed in the context of being a Global Participant or Player if you will...

not to mention they have a Historical background that influences a great portion of Europe...

Their present day leadership affects many surrounding economies and they are in the process of becoming a major player/controller of Oil to Europe...

and all of this in spite of Stalins atrocities...

It is of no relevance that I may or may not have lived under anything other than a benevolent political system.

Russia is the Here and Now and has to be considered in any and all Global Geopolitical considerations and the same applies to China, North Korea, Iran et al.....
