Best guess right now is somewhere between East Texas and Louisiana, i.e., the heart of the Gulf Coast's petrochemical complex. She is for sure going to be hitting a lot of rigs, platforms and underwater pipelines.

There will be lots of work for the offshore contractors, Schlumberger, et al.

Derek Ortt, the meteorologist I follow since he accurately predicted the path of The Storm Whose Name I Cannot Mention, has Gustav headed directly into the mouth of the Miss. River. Of course, this is not writ in stone but I am definitely paying attention. Evacuation plans are in place.

If it comes up the River as a cat. 3 or better storm as Ortt thinks might happen, there will be numerous refineries and plants destroyed. She Whose Name I Cannot Mention will be seen as a cakewalk as I doubt that the River levees can take a hurricane impacting directly on them. Truly the nightmare scenario.

Of course, things change so the worst case is unlikely to happen.

Edit: Ortt's latest seems to have it a bit west of the mouth of the River now. Lots of play in things at this point:
