As an editor, I can tell you that the Media 100 is NOT a formidable rival in a high volume broadcast environment. It lacks the speed, sophistication and elegance of the Avid Media Composer as an editing tool. Simple procedures are much more difficult to do on a Media 100. The Media 100 does have a chance in the corporate video environment because of the price. But Avid also has the MCXpress to compete. Avid is getting negative feedback from some customers on their upgrade and Tech support pacakages. Hopefully, they will listen to their user base.
