Z, Obama would be proof that an African-American can make it into Harvard, become head of Harvard Law Review, go on to become a successful attorney, state legislator, senator, and president, all doing it the old-fashioned way: by working your ass off. He wasn't born into wealth, nor is he a blue-blooded politician or businessman. To call that the "exception" would be to take away everything Obama has worked for and ascribe that to some random event. Obama may be an exceptional man, but he is NOT the "exception," at least IMO.
