But, Presidents lie all the time. Take national security - by definition, they lie to avoid releasing secrets. In crisis, they often lie about how severe, or ramifications, or who to blame. They even lie about small matters, such as what good buddies they are with so-and-so. Remember McCain and Bush's love hugs? By all indications, McCain would like to punch George Bush right in the mouth.

Lying is necessary in such a post - good lying is a skill.

But, I do agree that what you lie about matters.
