"What's with all these deleted messages?" They aren't really deleted. The software seems to have trouble if two posts are done within a certain time window. It looks as if the thread that assigns post numbers isn't serialized. So two different posts can wind up with the same post number. Fixing apparently is pretty involved, I guess. Used to be you could see two posts with the same number and the next one has the next number in the sequence. Now, it is skipped. So they changed something but, apparently couldn't resolve the root problem. Which probably means a rewrite.
