I think the greater danger is they won't vote...

McCain needs all votes he can get, as Democrats will eventually heal the wounds and rally behind Obama (already happening by Gallup and other poll indicators). More dems than republicans registered now, and independents are split. For McCain to win he needs all sectors of the Bush constituency to vote for him (or against Obama), but don't give them a reason to sit at home and do nothing.

By the way, there are tons of Mitt quotes and soundbites ripping into McCain from the primaries. So, the Hillary ads get neutralized totally on that point.
