Intel, SNDK/Toshiba, Apple , Dell , HP and Samsung should all put high priority to make SSD work; 99.9% this is a copper process

Hynix yesterday (Aug. 28th) annouced the completion of a new advanced chip factory named Fab M11 in Cheongju, South Korea.

The new fab will produce chips on 40,000 silicon wafers per month starting from September and it will make only NAND Flash and will kick off making 16Gb and 32Gb devices on 40nm process.

The opening of the new fab could be good news for consumers, but bad news for its rivals amid the continuing oversupply in the global NAND flash market. As industry makers devoted to increase output by building new factories and improving the technology, NAND prices were kept at a depressed level.

This new chip factory may hurt the gloomy flash price further.
