Hi Margaret. More off topic health stuff. After you inspired me to exercise I realized that the amount of oxygen I usually take in was diminshed considerably because of my stupid cold. The breathing is just not that easy. As far as weight training is concerned I heard David Essel on his radio show last evening saying that a pretty high percentage of middle aged women had trouble walking short distances or carrying stuff without becoming short of breath. He indicated that he thought it was a result of lifestyles that were essentially sedentary and that significant changes in physical behavior (weight training) would offset the problems that were identified in the study he referenced. Not to be sexist he also said that if a study were conducted of middle aged men the same conclusions would probably be drawn.
I have a Hoist 880 exercise machine that I should use more religously, but when I do use it I get a feeling of strength and and peacefulness. I do 3 sets of a variety of exercises that I am sure you are already aware of such as chest press, lat pulls, seated rows, bicep curls, leg extensions, crunches, and a few others. I try to exercise every other day and my wife and I try to walk every day as well.

Good luck with your free weights. That is fantastic. And don't ever stop chanting go intc.

Take care.
