The risk of Down Syndrome rises with maternal age. I believe there has been research that indicates paternal age can also be an influencing factor. It's a genetic anomaly that is determined at time of conception. Nothing that happens during gestation has anything to do with it, which is what made Tad's uninformed statement so ridiculous.
