Sarah Palin is a kind of strike in two directions at once. She got Dr. Dobson to support McCain - no easy feat - and Rush is ecstatic, so the social conservatives are on board. But as a successful woman governor, she may appeal to Hillary voters, esp. if they are irritated by, or distrustful of, Obama. Or just not as left-wing as this Dem ticket. And Palin's reforming track record enforces McCain's.

The one Achilles heel is experience, which though better than Obama's is not that great. I'd feel better if she were a successful two-term governor, at least.

We'll see how she is received on the campaign trail over the next two months.

Pass the popcorn, this one should be interesting.
