And Mr. Owl, I sense the feeling that you may believe that a self proclaimed "hockey Mom" may not be the best choice for the potential holding of the highest office in the land and Commander in Chief of the armed forces of the United States of America... Last Thursday night... after re-reviewing the Denver "games"... I came this ("&") close... For the very first time in my adult life... to being proud of this country.
Then when I awoke on Friday morning I found that the Republican degenerates had managed to come up with iron clad proof that I will never live long enough to finally dispose of their shame.
At this point I am quite content to see McCain deliver this puck to the dark nether regions of his truly deserving corporate peeps. Indeed... I don't believe I can wait to see what wondrous programs and policies this dynamic pair will produce.
It is becoming clear to me that the Republicans are going to pursue their bleached white, unilateral, creationist view of the world until they are bombed back to the stone age they so long for.
IF this iteration of L'il Abner and Daisey Mae were to prove successful... what amazing retrograde leadership will they cough up next? What ever the case, the natural result will be increased pressure for a re-alignment of current economic and political power blocks, domestic and foreign, in opposition to them. The Bushites frankly have no other seeds to plant. While they have continued to repaint their old rotting 19th century delusions... their opponents have been studiously, if slowly, upgrading.
Domestically the opposition has been producing candidates of greater and greater intellect and capability since Nixon dropped his load. Conversely, the Republican trend now requires an open and notorious dumbing down of candidates to "excite" their paranoid and bigoted masses.
Internationally... China and Russia are already beginning to bring in the harvest of our increasingly weak and repetitive analytic skills. India and Iran will not be left out. Why should they? Everybody who wants a piece has been taking it at a pretty good clip since the cost of movement between countries opened up to non-piratical travelers.
While the Republican neanderthals natural response to this opposition has been and continues to be the customary run on ammo supplies and adherence to the traditional myths of national superiority, godliness, ultimate victory, etc... sooner or later their pitiable fertility rates, coupled with their religious devotion to anti abortion proscriptions, will deprive them of the strength and economic power to survive the political evolution going on everywhere else.
I used to think that education would fix all this, but it is clear that stupidity really is a genetic problem which knows no racial bounds. I think this is why you won't see a lot of Spartans laying around on shields, combing their ultra-long hair, and wearing nice shiny armor when you visit Greece. But I digress...
No Mr. Radd. I am neither surprised nor terribly disappointed. Obama, Biden... shoot the entire Democratic Convention including the Clintons... are certainly a marvelous excuse for joy and pride in the possibilities of human kind.
Unfortunately, no matter how disciplined, smart or hard working they are... they cannot "cure" the vile ignorance of fear which presaged their arrival... and paves the road to their future.
Besides... the BIG Rocks got the cure for that.
