I heard about the Iraq trip on CNN last night. Some of her former political cronies and friends were interviewed by someone who is a writer for People magazine and one of them told about the trip. Palin's story will be written up in the next issue.

I will give serious consideration to voting for the Mc Cain ticket, but I was already thinking about it before Palin was picked. I recently changed to an Independent due to the handling of this last campaign.

Here are some of my thoughts:

1. I don't agree with Palin on everything but I don't agree with Obama on everything either............that point is a wash between the two sides.

2. I am personally anti-abortion for myself but don't choose to force others to agree. I am fairly certain the Congress will be Democratic and so the balance of having each party control part of the fed gov't makes this part a wash. If appointees to the Supreme Court become right wing then the lazy Democrats in Congress can wake up and fight those appointments. It's about time the Dems in Congress earned their salaries.

3. Palin is a far cry from Cheney so the resemblance to the Bush administration isn't strong at all.

4. I love her feisty personality. Palin shoots, hunts, fishes and is "my kind of woman" in that respect. I have much in common with her in the area as I have always been a female with many interests in sporting events. I also was juggling work and breast feeding at several times during my life so her predicaments make me more kindred to her than Obama ( :>) )

5. She has walked the walk that she claims to support. She stopped the "bridge to nowhere" project and has stood up against bureaucracy in Alaska. She has stood up to people in her own party to curb pork barrel spending and enacted legislation to stop corruption. She has DONE it instead of talked about it.

6. She appointed people from both parties to serve in her cabinet.

7. She has been out there in Alaska making real changes where change was difficult...........instead of running around the country talking about it.

8. Palin's experience as Gov of a state trumps Obama's experience. At least she has been the top executive in a large bureaucracy which he has not done so her experience makes her more favorable then Obama ( who I felt was not ready at all ).

This country needs real people to lead us out of this pit we have landed in. I think Palin's the real deal.

I"ll overlook my differences with Palin's philosophy if I continue to see her as a 3 carat diamond from the land of the midnight sun.
