Palin didn't go the "right" schools, don't you get it? One has to be a snooty Northeastern liberal to be qualified in their eyes.

Nevermind that Obama is de-emphasizing his Ivory League creds in an effort to appear like an ordinary guy.

Ignore the fact that the Empty O's ability to obtain an upper tier education was most likely the result of affirmative action.

Forget that as a community organizer, Obama's job was to teach people how to answer questions at hearings, and he wasn't even good at it. Aside from that, he wrote grant applications.

I doubt Obama ever tried a case as a lawyer. He left practice too early in the game to have done anything meaningful.

He was hired by the University of Chicago because he was black and had been the first black law review editor at Harvard. [Which is just another way of saying affirmative action got him the job.]

He was commissioned to write a book on race relations (which was part of the University of Chicago package), but instead wrote a memoir.

He eschewed the tenure track, serious academic route at Chicago and instead was a part time lecturer for years, with not a single publication to his name. In other words, a wholly undistinguished academic career.

His time in the Illinois Senate is also remarkable for his lack of achievement and lack of commitment [all those 'present' votes], except his commitment to the most radical forms of abortion, including letting unsuccessfully aborted, born-alive babies die.

He's done nothing as a member of the U.S. Senate but run for the next office.

So let's see.

BO's major accomplishment was to be a black guy who knew how to access affirmative action and who was willing to rub shoulders with terrorists, crooks and other denizens of the Chicago machine.

Hillary's major accomplishment was to marry Clinton and stick with him in Arkansas and through the Presidency so that she could be given a leg up to the Senate position from which to launch her inevitable Presidential race. [But, yes, she did have a top tier education as well. We never have heard what, if any, legal work she ever performed at the Rose Law Firm. My guess is that she attended cocktail parties.]

So, yes, I agree that Palin doesn't have an ivy league education. I also wish she had more years under her belt as governor. I would have liked to see a more extensive resume.

But I do think she has grit. She is also not a beneficiary of affirmative action or the appendage of a husband (like Hillary, Nancy Pelosi, and Diannne Feinstein, just to name a few.) I like that.

Palin's first appearances in tough venues will be key. If she performs well, I don't think the lack of ivy on her resume will matter at all. It might even help.
