Halcro is one of Palin's major detractors, and he's been waging a blog war against her for the last year or so. Ironically, he may have helped her get elected in 2006 while running as an independent and landing some tough punches on her main opponent. I'm familiar with special investigator Branchflower who is handling the ethics case, because I once spent 3 days as a juror watching him systematically demolish a bank robber. He's a thorough, efficient, and methodical prosecutor whom I'd sure hate to have him dogging my tail. Palin is trying to brush this off, but the timing will be quite dreadful if something bad comes down on her right before the election. Frankly, I'm kind of amazed that she got thru the vetting process with this hanging in the background. I tried earlier to warn the folks over on Lindy's thread recently about potential problems if Palin got the VP nod. Oh well.
