General comment regarding presidential/vice presidential issues: I just plowed through the last 200 plus postings on this thread, most concerned with the Presidential contest. What struck me was that just about all the posters are talking as if they were handicappers of a sort - evaluators of the candidates' images, presentations, style, and appeal. This would be appropriate for a beauty pageant - which would (mercifully) end when these considerations were resolved. But this is a political contest. What matters is what is missing from the discussions: are they telling the truth; what will they do once they are elected: what do they believe; what policies will they advocate?; how will they govern? What will be their approach to the difficult problems or the day?
