Steve, Palin needs to clarify her bridge comments. But I do grant her credit for telling Alaskans to stop being so dependent on federal largesse. She is different from Stevens, Murkowski, Young, etc.

That bridge money was mostly Alaska federal transportation share funds to begin with -- the same kind of money that other states get. The pork barrel earmarking problem is a national issue, so lets not get side-tracked on Alaska's past problems. Our clout in DC is declining rapidly, and others are drooling for the feast. How do you feel about billions in federal assistance for housing, finance, agriculture, automakers, etc?
