It is a matter of perception at this point. My purely politcal advice to McCain would be to say he is going to have her head up a commission on change in Government. She would be charged with looking into earmarks and other government abuse. This would play up her experience in Alaska and be a perfect election theme.

Your observation, that the VP choice is not the route for change is absolutely true from a traditional view. That is another point I would emphasize. McCain should declare he is not going to go the traditional route. He will reinforce his maverick credentials and assume the mantle of change.

I am not sure he is smart enough to do this. I am not sure he wants to do this. But if he does he wins.
