Not exactly. Halcro ran as an independent, and did very well indeed considering that status. It gave him tons of exposure, which sets him up for a better shot in the next election.

I voted for Democrat Tony Knowles, who I thought would work better with the oil industry to get the Alaska gas pipeline started. Indeed, he had the support of big oil in the election.

But Sarah Palin won and proceeded to ram thru a huge windfall tax increase on big oil, and now she's giving away about $1 billion to the public in a huge one-time give-away. I still don't understand how ya'll square this with traditional Republican values.
