John, I'm a staunch believer in the Social Contract. Government is there to serve the people. People do not serve the government.

JFK did not say, "Ask not what your government can do for you, ask for you can do for your government." It's all about people serving people.

When you say that our government is what makes us great, that's when you take credit out of the hands of hard-working Americans, with their highly diverse, individual energies coming together toward some shared values. That's when you place the credit in the hands of bureaucrats who not only act like they know better than the people themselves, but use the force of law to back up their arrogance.
