James: You are right, you can get an Avid on the Windows platform, but it is the MCXpress, the low end system which is meant to compete with the likes of the Media 100 in the low end of the corporate market. The Media Composer line is only on the Mac platform. The MCXpress is not meant for edit intensive or long form projects (which means just about any broadcast or cable program or a long form Corporate video). It is a vastly scaled down Media Composer.
