It appears you fail to understand that a carbon tax will be in addition to the existing taxes and commodity costs.

YOU fail to understand that a Carbon tax will bring down the cost of fossil fuels by encouraging alternatives.

POP QUIZ: Which Scenario is better

1. No carbon tax and $140 a barrel oil

2. A carbon tax and $50 a barrel oil

Part of the reason fuel (and food ) prices are so high is the $1.00 a gallon import tax on Brazilian ethanol. Thank Bush and the corn lobby.
