Sam, don't you find this just a tad odd:

It has been standard fodder of conservative pundits that minorities (especially the black community) have suffered greatly as the result of teenage pregnancy, and the cause of this is held up to be the lack of nuclear families in those communities. When the shoe is on the other foot, it is no big deal, and everything is going to be just fine, and it can happen to the best of families.
I do feel sorry for the kid, especially for her being in the spotlight, but one good thing, especially if the Reps win in Nov, is that from now on, exhibit A of teen pregnancy is going to be well known, and the pundits who normally use that whipping post to abuse the group of their choice, will now at least need to add a little clarification each time they bring up the subject. |
