Mountain people would/will do that. And it is only 'legal' now in WV. Not cause they are so backwards there, but because they, the people of WV, think they shouldn't outlaw the way anyone practices their faith. And people call WV'ers backwards? There are 2000 or so handlers left in the country. Outside of WV they practice it in the dark, since it against the 'law'. It was deeply held in the hills of northern Alabama for generations. But cult? No. A branch of a certain belief in the gospel. And actually rather well grounded in the word of Paul. The handlers never hurt no one. Ain't no reason to hurt them or dismiss them. They don't want to make people take books out of the libraries. Or hate gays. Or such things.
