As one from the field, I think this whole think about Y2K has gotten
out of hand. For one this issue with 9.9.99 is not really a big deal. Most programmers don't use this type of logic (assuming they even use logic..). And as far as Y2K goes, it's a big problem but not as catastrophic as everybody likes to believe
A lot of systems actually use the number of milli secs since 1970 for date calculations and this is only going to be a problem in the year 2034 or somthing like that when this number exceeds 2**32.
