i think it was a smart move by McCain. the race is Obama's to lose. he is heavily favored and McCain will simply lose by playing conservatively. if McCain had chosen the Republican equivalent of Biden it would just look like more of the same. now it's very hard for Dems to attack a perky white chick. too many of their own members will identify.

she's more than cute enough to be eye candy to men (many men who've never followed politics will find themselves strangely interested for the first time), but not so hot as to put women voters off. plus, stepping into a milieu of crusty, ugly old white guys, she kind of changes the entire atmosphere. she's the next Danica Patrick -g-.

so she has a 17yr old who's pregnant, BFD in this day and age. yes, she's probably a hypocrite, but so are most if not all of us at some point. it would have been far more hypocritical to hush it up and force an abortion. i think people will give her higher marks for integrity than for hypocrisy--just a guess -g-.

McCain is still likely to lose, but he might as well take a shot at the title. and wouldn't you prefer to spend time in close quarters with her than Joe Lieberman?
