You can pay higher taxes and not vote for Obama at the same time. Just mail in what ever amount Obama has promised to raise your taxes, and thereby give your fellow Americans a sorely needed tax break. However, the only way you'll get your wished for larger Fed gov, and appeasement of terrorists, is indeed by voting for the empty O.
