Yep. Agreed. Or at the very least, he loses a much tighter race. Much tighter. My multi-year view of the presidential math is not unlike many others: I start with Ohio and Florida, and I work up from there. Here is how I play that game. 1. If you win both Ohio and Florida you make it nearly impossible for your opponent to win. 2. You win either OH or FL and you keep yourself in the race forcing both yourself and your opponent to win with interesting math, in the other key states. 3. You lose both FL and OH and unless you pull off a miracle of math in myriad other states, you will not win. In fact, you are probably doomed.

The McCain campaign thinks Palin does something for them in Ohio. I don't think so. I went to undergrad in Ohio. I know something about that state. K.B.H. would have done more for McCain in Ohio, than Palin. Advantage now goes to Obama, who now gets to unleash Biden in Ohio. Not saying Biden locks down OH for Obama by any means. But, edge to Obama.

As it stands though, I think both campaigns will have to work their asses off in both states. The campaign jets will have two stops only in late October: Columbus, and Miami.
