Status of DOJ appropriations bill . . .

Competing versions of the bill have passed the House and Senate. The House and Senate have appointed conferees to a Conference Committee to work out the differences. There are no serious differences in the area we are looking at. (Theoretically, it could get changed anyway, but I doubt it will.) Congress is back in session tomorrow after a week or two off.

Next, identical bills get voted up or down in each chamber. If both pass (and they will, or we have a partial government shutdown), they go to the President for signature. My guess is this happens in November.
