Yes, I know :) We go around on this every couple of years.

I am not a football fan, but since I view the teen years as high risk in so many ways, we took our chances on the tradeoff. Had ours wanted to play football, we would have been in the stands cheering our lungs out. (of course, I had started my football causes brain damage campaign early on)

Life is full of risks, and if you happen to be a physical, competitive young person, sports are an excellent outlet.

Ammo had his hand broken as a catcher when a large kid slammed into him stealing home.
But he also had stitches in his cheek when he ran into a cymbal in band.
And he cut a finger half off and severed a tendon working with a knife while preparing for a role in theatre.

Born to be hospitalized.
