KT, There is nothing wrong with promoting abstinence, while simultaneously educating about birth control, disease etc... IMO, teaching and promoting abstinence and also teaching about birth control is superior than just doing the latter. The problem with some on the left is that they more or less throw in the towel on trying to change the values of society in ways that will produce superior results and practically promote poor behavior. The problem with the religious right is that won't accept the way the world is.
