What power would Palin have to clean up anything in Washington?

She'd only be a vice-president, and my initial feeling is that once
McCain wins office, if that were to happen, Palin would be shuttled
aside like so much office furniture so that the real movers and
shakers could then make policy and divide the spoils.

Remember - there is pretty strong tension between McCain and the
evangelicals. Right now, Palin gave the the evangelicals a reason
to need McCain, and McCain, to win the election needs the evangelicals.

If Palin were to try to clean any of the corruption up, it would
just ruin the Republican spoils system. No sir. A good line, but
ain't gonna happen.

- A.
