Their speeches mentioned a few economic issues. BUt they ran tangentially from them. THis is a Bush McCain election since speaker after speaker harped on 9/11 which is a BUsh issue. Needs to be pointed out that after nearly 1 trillion dollars, Osama still remains at large. And McCain says he is going to follow Osama to the gates of hell. Very very similar to what comes out of Bush's mouth.

So yes Bush, as a person is not running. But you have his surrogate John McCain running who like Bush is saying he will follow Osama to the gates of hell. Misguided as always since the road to Osama is not the road to hell but it is the road to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
