Saying she fought for something, which she actually did fight for is not a lie or a stretch. You suggest that the word 'begun' stretches the truth. That article doesn't quite make the point I was challenging. I haven't seen the blue prints or ground work but I'm guessing that word (begun) is something for petty pundits to quibble over more than anything that would qualify a statement like SeachREs "Big Lies". These two statements are not contradictory. She can champion reform and 'abuses' of earmarks while still try to get federal benefits that are not abuses of the system for her community without being unethical. PALIN: "I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending ... and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks but no thanks' for that Bridge to Nowhere." THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. SeachRE is a proven liar dozens of times over.
